In the United States there is increasing attention on what is collectively called our “health care system”. We refer to access to it, its rising costs and the different models that make it possible. It is even commonly thought of as being “in crisis”. What we should be giving at least equal weight to is the concept of health itself, and how best to maximize it in an increasingly complex world. We will all benefit by reallocating our attention on health promoting practices: a healthier diet,  lifelong physical activity, substance abuse avoidance, strong relationships and growth of the mind and spirit.
